Homecoming 2023

Homecoming week starts on Monday, September 27th, and will be filled with fun activities and lots of Comet cheer! 

The Senior Class nominated the following individuals for the 2023 Homecoming Court:
Amerie Alavardo, Mya Elizondo, Laney Esmoil, Paris Salais, Maelyn Wainwright, Evan
Beal-Henderson, Victor De La Cruz-Martinez, Dominic Hernandez, Alexis Michel, and BruceSonga.

Be sure to congratulate these Comets when you see them!

Monday - High School Theme Day: Pajama/Comfy Day - dress in your comfy pjs!


Tuesday - High School Theme Day: Barbie vs. Ken - Dress like Barbie or Ken or wear your finest Preppie outfit - pink optional

Wednesday - High School Theme Day: Stuff Animal Day - bring or dress up like a stuffed animal

  • Homecoming Parade - Wednesday, September 27th
    • 5:15 - line-up for parade in the high school parking lot
    • 5:30 - parade floating judging begins
    • 5:45 - parade floating judging ends
    • 6:00 - parade starts
      • Route - Maxson to Calhoun to 7th to Elm - end at Memorial Field


  • Pep Rally starts after the parade finishes - around 6:30-  Wednesday, September 27th
    • 1. Introduce Homecoming Court
    • 2. Band performs the national anthem and school fight song
    • 3. Mom and Pop Squad
    • 4. Coaches and Directors speak
    • 5. Cheerleaders Lead us in some cheers
    • 6. Coronation


  • Powderpuff Games start ten minutes after Pep Rally ends-  Wednesday, September 27th
    • Two semifinal games - 9th vs. 12th, 10th vs. 11th
    • Final game played after the semifinals

Thursday - High School Theme Day: Throwback Thursday - dress like a child of the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, or dress like you did when you were an elementary student.

Friday - Blue and White Spirit Day - dress in your favorite West Liberty Comets Gear

  • 7:00 - Homecoming Football Game vs. Northeast Rebels 


Saturday - Homecoming Dance 8:00-11:00 in the high school gym.
