Progress continues on the new ELC and Elementary remodel project. Currently, the construction crews are focusing on the installation of ductwork, cabinetry is being hung, and they are grouting the tile. The exterior masonry work is completed, and the brick will be washed in the near future. Also, preparation for the driveway and sidewalks has started.
This was another busy week at the West Liberty Foods Athletic Complex! Work continues on the storm sewer and field drainage on all three fields. This is an important piece of the project to help protect the new fields, and keep water away from the track. There has been a lot of concrete work done in the past week with much more yet to come. Bleacher and press box footings are almost complete for the Giri Family stadium, along with the foundation of the concession stand. Footings have also been poured for the foul poles at both the baseball and softball fields, along with the footings for the poles that will hold the discus nets.
The newest crew to arrive at the complex site is the field light crew. You will notice if you drive or walk by the light poles that will go up around the stadium and the baseball field. Soon, the lights at the current softball field will be taken down and moved to the new softball field. When finished, all three fields will have LED lighting!
Thank you again to the public for staying out of the construction site. This is for your safety and the safety of all of the workers. You can walk along the trail and get a great view of the work being done, and we will continue to post these flyover videos weekly to keep you updated.
