There was some significant progress this week at the site of the new athletic complex. As shown in the video, work continues on the installation of storm sewers and drainage tile. When you are walking on the trail on the east side of the complex, you can see at the south end, two areas where water will drain off the site and away from the fields. Surveying work also continues. These crews are out finding and marking locations for light poles, baseball and softball foul poles, backstop netting poles for the baseball and softball fields, and more.
Did you know:
- West Liberty will be only the 2nd River Valley Conference School to have a synthetic turf football/soccer field.
- West Liberty will be the 1st school in the River Valley Conference to have a fully synthetic turf baseball and softball field.
- West Liberty's new, 8-lane track will allow both our high school and junior high track teams to host larger meets, bringing in more people to our community.
