The West Liberty High School Athletic Complex saw some big, new features this week, most notably on the softball field. The backstop netting has been installed for the softball field, and crews are finishing the rock work in anticipation of the turf crew starting Monday. The foul poles were also installed this week, along with all of the fence posts around the field. The fencing around the softball field will be 4 feet high, allowing for clear site lines for spectators, and safety for players. The home dugout (first baseline) pad has also been poured, along with half of the visitor pad. The other half will be completed once large trucks are finished on the field. Work has continued on the baseball field as well. The majority of the curb is now in so rock work can continue. Foul netting poles are also in (netting will be coming soon). Next week will see a lot of work done on the baseball field as crews prepare this field for an all-turf surface.
Work in the concession stand also continues. Plumbers and electricians are finishing work inside walls in preparation for inspections and walls to be installed.
As we do each week, a reminder to the public to please stay off the site at all times. This is for your safety and the safety of the workers.
Thank you for your cooperation.
