You will notice some big changes this week at the athletic complex site! Concrete crews have now completed all but a small portion of their work. Over 200 yards of concrete were poured and finished this week! One of the goals of the district with this project was to make accessibility to all fields and areas of the complex more manageable for everyone. With the paved handicap parking spaces, and wide sidewalks leading from the front of the high school, into the complex and all throughout the complex, we have accomplished that! The wide sidewalks will also allow for large crowds to easily get around.
Work also continued on both the baseball and softball fields. While the turf was finished a week ago, more final touches are being put on these fields before dugouts and pressboxes begin to take shape. This week, the customized padded backstops were installed on both fields, along with bases and pitching rubbers. The work on the bases and pitching rubbers will continue until all bases are set and all pitching rubbers, including the seven that go in the bullpens, are installed.
Workers are back putting the final touches on the home bleachers at the new stadium. Safety fencing has been added and the blue skirt on the front of the bleachers has now been attached. Work on these bleachers will continue into next week as crews install handrails, finish the safety fencing, and add small transition pieces where two pieces of metal come together.
Lastly, work that cannot be seen continues inside the concession and restroom building. Wall paneling continues to be installed inside. This work will continue into next week before fixtures will be put into place. With concrete poured, work will soon begin to finish the outside of this building as well.
As a reminder, please stay out of this area while the work is being completed. Thank you for your continued cooperation.
