Esports, or competitive video gaming, has seen a surge in popularity in recent years. Leagues around the country highlight the benefits of integrating esports into the school environment. These benefits include the development of critical skills such as teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and resilience. In addition, esports can serve as a catalyst for improved attendance, increased engagement, and overall educational success. West Liberty is excited to offer esports and looks forward to more student involvement throughout the fall, winter, and spring seasons.
