We received notice today from the Iowa Department of Education that our application for Temporary Permission to Provide Primarily Continuous Remote Learning has been approved. After consultation with the Iowa Department of Public Health and considering the facts as a whole, the Department Grants our request for the period requested: November 10, 2020, to November 24, 2020. We plan to resume in-person learning on November 30th, during which hybrid group B will be attending class in-person and group A will remain virtual. We will continue working with Trinity Muscatine Public Health to monitor cases in our county and determine our next steps and actions. Please continue to check your email and district website for up to date information and guidance. Please call your child’s building principal with any questions.
Just as a reminder:
We will continue with required virtual learning during this time, you should have received communication from your child's teacher with specific instructions. If you have not please reach out to your child's teacher or your building principal.
Please continue to keep our district nurses up to date with any positive COVID test that occurs within your family during this time of virtual education. It is necessary for us to stay up to date on current cases and quarantines within our district. All in-person extracurricular activities and practices will be canceled through November 24th. Coaches will be reaching out to team members with further guidance. Extracurricular activities may continue on an online or virtual basis.
The ELC Before and After School option will not be operating during virtual learning. You will not be charged for the time that we are out due to virtual learning. This change in cost is only due to COVID-19 closure and would not be granted for other reasons.
Meals will be available for pick-up daily at the location of your choice. The Google form linked below will only need to be filled out once for each student to request breakfast and/or lunch during this time of virtual learning. If you have already signed up for meals for your virtual student(s) for this week and/or next week, or via the form for ELC students you do not need to fill out the form linked below, we will continue to prepare meals for you through November 24th. Meal requests for the current day will need to be received by 5:00 AM to have a meal ready for you that day.
