Dear Students and Families,
Thank you so much for adapting so quickly to virtual learning, we understand that this year has not been easy for anyone, and we are very grateful for your continued support and understanding during this ever-changing time. West Liberty School District is committed to ensuring the safety of our students and staff as we continue through this pandemic. After meeting with our Administrators, Directors, and communicating with School Board Members, and Trinity Muscatine Public Health to discuss next steps regarding the Muscatine County positivity rate of 22.0%, we must inform you that we plan to continue with virtual learning through December 4th, returning to school on December 7th. We have submitted a waiver for two weeks of virtual learning, however, at this time we only plan to remain virtual for one more week and reassess to determine if we will return to school or remain virtual for the second week. While we know that this is an inconvenience for your family, we need to do the safest thing possible for our students, staff, and community and move to virtual learning for another week. We have deep cleaned our buildings and we are ready to go when we are able to return.
