We realize that this year has been a unique year on many levels, school meals included. We feel very fortunate that we have been able to provide free meals through the Summer Food Service Program for the 2020-21 school year! Please know that this program is different than the National School Lunch Program for which free and reduced forms need to be filled out and kept on file. As we progress through the year we are seeing that we have students who qualified for free and reduced last year but have not provided an application for this school year. We are reaching out in the hopes that we can collect these forms for this year as they provide much more than just free and reduced meals. If you do not have a current approved application on file this may impact other opportunities such as:
- A full or partial waiver of school registration fees
- Low-cost health insurance for children
- Other assistance opportunities based on approved free and reduced status (ex. last year food assistance benefits were provided to households with eligible children based on their free and reduced status with the school)
- This also impacts possible school funding which is based on the free and reduced population in our district (ex. Title I funding and grants)
If you have not submitted a Free and Reduced Application this year and feel that you would qualify or if your income has changed since the beginning of the school year please take a moment to fill one out (linked below) and send it to me for review and approval:
