
The Main Event stared today at the Elementary! Students receive recognition for being Caring Comets every Friday as part of our PBIS plan. They receive a certificate and are announced over the intercom as being amazing Comets. Here is the first group that was recognized!

Mrs. Henderson helped lead a Mystery Skype between a class from Sandwich, Massachusetts, and Mrs. Garcia’s Literacy class. Students asked each other yes or no questions to eliminate and identify the state the other class is from, practicing critical thinking, questioning techniques, professional speaking, and geography!


We have had a delicious week of food at WLCSD! Meatball subs, chicken crispitos, corn dogs, pork chop patties, & today it is Panda Express kind of day delicious mandarin chicken!! Middle school students love their Friday morning long john donuts their favorite!!!


Students from Mr. Beal's class provide an important service to the Middle School kitchen while learning some valuable life skills! Way to go Comets!

Did someone say sandwiches? Students in Mrs. Juhl’s class learned how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and then made their own! Yum!





Seniors enjoyed breakfast burritos provided by West Liberty State Bank for breakfast, and delicious burgers grilled by the Rotary Club of West Liberty for lunch. Drinks were provided by Giri BP and dessert from Acapulco Bakery. We can’t thank our donors enough for keeping these productive and happy seniors full!

After creating their FSA Ids (first step in completing the FAFSA), students played minute-to-win-it games. Blaze won this round!


Our Work-Based Learning Coordinator, Mrs. Anderson, is teaching students about apprenticeships and other opportunities during Senior Day!


Today is Senior Day! The class of 2023 will have the chance to listen to some guest speakers, work on college applications, and learn about financial aid.





7th-graders, taking creative writing this quarter, had the opportunity to share their twist on familiar fairy tales with Kindergarten classes. The Kindergarteners were a FANTASTIC audience!





Ms. Buysse's Horticulture class visited Jan's Flower Yard today for a tour. Thank you for the tour and learning!




In Art Design class at the High School, we are focusing on two elements of art: Texture and Color. Students learned about the ancient art of weaving and color theory by learning how to create the warp and weft with different sizes of yarn in their chosen color schemes. These weavings can be wall hangings, pot holders, rugs for small items, or place mats!

Kindergarten students took a walk to the Post Office as part of their community helpers unit on Tuesday. They learned about the Post Office and how mail works and they mailed letters! They are looking forward to receiving mail from friends and family members! Thank you to the West Liberty Post Office team for this wonderful experience!
