Attention families: This morning a fender bender occurred involving a WLCSD school bus near Nichols. The bus driver and the 15 students on the bus were ok, there were no injuries. Another bus was disbursed to bring the students safely to school. As always the safety of our students and staff comes first, and we are thankful that no one was injured in this incident.

5th grade applying their engineering skills! They built prototypes of skyscrapers and tested them for height and stability. They also applied their knowledge of severe weather and tested their structures for safety during a tornado and a flood.

7th graders had special guest judges for their Amazon rainforest land conflict debate. Ken Brooks and Ms. Russell determined winners based on claims, counterclaims, and rebuttals. Students had opportunity to ask Mr. Brooks land use questions for West Liberty.

Salad lettuce supply in our buildings is limited and of poor quality due to storms, excessive rain out west, and our recent break/upcoming spring break. We will still offer fruit and other vegetables on the Middle and High School salad bars but may run out of lettuce this week.

The CDC and Iowa Department of Public Health have announced that COVID isolation guidelines are now the same as the common cold. We have updated our Illness Guidelines to align with this, and will no longer require a 5-day quarantine following a COVID diagnosis.
